The History Center was created to lift up and honor the often-unseen struggle of postal workers behind the scenes of large facilities. As we look to the future of postal services, it is important to understand the workers who do the valuable work of moving America’s mail, and their fight for dignity and respect over the years.

The United States Postal Service is older than the United States, and postal workers have been connecting communities by delivering mail through wars, natural disasters, and global pandemics.

This museum shines a light on the hidden history of workers struggling for justice and rights in the workplace as they delivered the vital service of moving the mail, weaving our country together.

The exhibits are carefully curated to show that the struggle for justice is never easy but is essential for the dignity of all workers. Together, we can learn from their organizing and be inspired to carry on the torch in our fights against privatization and expanded services.

As APWU President Moe Biller said, “the struggle for justice continues,” and so it does!
